Our Story

Sita and I have been married for 53 years. And it's been a blast the entire time. I can't imagine a day without her. We're a team - in every sense of the word.

We were meant for one another from the very beginning; but it took a long time and several divine interventions before we both realized it. We were born in the same hospital, Alta Bates, in Berkeley, California, in the same year, 1941. What are the chances?  In 1944, my family moved to Sacramento. Several years later her family also moved to Sacramento. What are the chances? Not only that, but our folks bought homes in the same part of town - and we both attended the same grade school. Theodore Judah. What are the chances? In early 1952, Sita's family once again moved - this time to the Sierra Oaks area of Sacramento. That same year my family moved out to the same area as well. What are the chances? And there we were again, attending the same junior high, Arden School. And, of course, because we attended the same junior high, we both wound up attending the same high school, as well, El Camino.

What's amazing is that neither of us really knew the other during that entire time - from grade school through high school. A little dense? Yes, we were in the same classes; but we didn't hang out with the same circle of friends. But that all chanaged when we graduated from high school in 1959. Once again, quite unexpectedly, we found ourselves attending the same college, the University of California at Davis. What are the chances?

She began setting me and my Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers up on dates - and I in turn began setting her up on dates with some of my frat brothers. Ocassionally, we would date one another, and we always had a great time; but still density prevailed. She transferred to Cal Berkeley in 1961 - and soon afterwards I did as well. What are the chances. And that's when romance blossomed. An almost unbelievable story. That's why we both say: we were meant for one another!

We were married in 1963 and have raised four children, two girls and two boys, all of whom are married and have children of their own. We have sixteen grandchildren.
